Elizabeth Taylor Harper Flanagan

Elizabeth Jordan Whitehead Taylor Harper Flanagan named the city of Auburn. She is best remembered as the namesake of Elizabeth Harper Hall, at a young age writing her future husband Thomas Harper that the settlement should be named "Sweet Auburn, loveliest village on the plains".[1]

Biography[edit | edit source]

Elizabeth Harper Flanagan was married twice, first to Thomas Harper, and after his death, to Christopher Flanagan. She had four children, two by each of her husbands.[2]
