Katharine Cooper Cater Hall (shortened to Cater Hall) is a building at the northernmost edge of the Upper Quad. It is not a residence hall, but is generally used for events. Cater Hall also typically houses the Honors College; currently however the Honors College has moved to Beard-Eaves Memorial Coliseum room 1084, as Cater is closed for renovations.[1]

Cater Hall is connected by awnings to Harper Hall and Little Hall. Mischievous students are known to use a tree by Harper to climb onto the awning, and from there to the roof of Cater Hall. Campus security makes regular patrols and may call the City of Auburn Police Division if they witness this.

Cater Lawn[edit | edit source]

The extensive lawn in front of Cater Hall is known as Cater Lawn. Cater Lawn is often used for events such as the College Kids Tailgate and the Battle of the Bands.

The Cater Cat[edit | edit source]

For some time, an orange cat lived outside the building. The Cater Cat, as it was named, was timid and rarely allowed itself to be approached by humans.
