The Auburn Plainsman is the current Auburn University student newspaper. It is produced and operated entirely by students at Auburn University.[1] The Plainsman is an independent publication, and receives no regular funding from student fees or state appropriations.

The newspaper began publication as The Plainsman in 1922.[2] The print edition of the Plainsman was published weekly on Thursdays, and distributed for free on Auburn University campus and at local businesses until Spring 2021; the final print issue was published on February 25, 2021.[3] It is now published online at theplainsman.com, with print issues published occasionally for Camp War Eagle and for Special Issues.[4]
