Changing the page name or location[edit source]

Is there another building in Auburn's past or present that went by the name "Mell Hall"? If not, I think this page needs to be moved to Mell Hall. Parentheses on names should only be used when there is already a page with no parentheses (whether that is an article or disambiguation page). Thisismyrofl (talk) 20:34, 13 November 2014 (UTC)

Not yet, but there are plans in the 2013 10-Year Plan to build a new building called Mell Hall. An editor (talk) 20:40, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
Excellent! Whenever an article is written on that it will have to be at bare Mell Hall with no parentheses. This article can stay where it is. Thisismyrofl (talk) 20:44, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
After reviewing the plan, it looks like the new building is tentatively called Mell Commons and will be stuck on the front of the library where the brick plaza is right now. An editor (talk) 20:45, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
I can see Mell Hall being a page that gives an option between going to Mell Commons and Mell Hall (demolished), though. Since I'm sure everyone's going to call the new building Mell Hall anyway. An editor (talk) 20:50, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
Do you mean a disambiguation page? I can see that happening. We found ourselves in this situation before with Broun, so how about this: let's have a disambiguation page at "Mell", and "Mell Hall" will cover the new building but feature a link at the top to the disambiguation page. That way the disambiguation page could cover Annie White Mell, who I suppose is the namesake of all these things. Thisismyrofl (talk) 21:05, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
Sounds like a good plan. An editor (talk) 21:09, 13 November 2014 (UTC)
